Our 9-12 Year Old Class

• 1 or 2 day/s per week (Tuesday 9:00-2:00 and/ or Wednesday—9:30 to 2:30 pm) $200/400 month

• The core of this class, as with all of our classes, will be play and curiosity bbased. But we will be very intentional in learning deeper nature connection and scientific enquiry in the areas of naturalist skills, primitive skills, wildcrafting, storytelling, and mindfulness practices.

• Naturalist Class: Thursday 9:20-12:30

• This class is a stepping stone for older students to jump into skill based learning. Students will learn how to use ID books, maintain a phenology plot, practice asking curiosity based questions and keep a nature journal as they dive deeper into nature based learning and following the trail of their own curiosities. Each month we will host an expert in the field or our study focus. We will then spend 1-2 weeks looking at that topic in depth as it pertains to the Forest School environment. At the end of the month we will take a field trip to see our study focus in a new environment. Please note that once a month our class time will include travel time. It will be no longer than 45 minutes outside of South Knoxville.
