Our 6-8 Year Old Class

• 1 or 2 days per week (Monday 9:30 to 2:30 pm and/ or Thursday 9:00-2:00) $200/400 month

• Our Forest School classes follow a play based model of education. We believe that play is the primary vehicle of learning for the young child. Within in this play based model students are exposed to naturalist skills through nature journaling, sensory exercises and fun nature based games.

• Tuesday ART CLASS (9:30—12:30pm) $110 month

• My name is Marcy Yoder and I’m so excited to be teaching this art class. I have my Bachelors in Studio Art and my masters in teaching. Before I was ensnared by the wonder of outdoor education I taught elementary art with KCS and loved it. 

  In this three hour class we’ll be focusing on learning to think like artists and how to move through the creative process. Starting with coming up with ideas and ending by sharing our work with one another. 

  While this is not the play based kind of class that you know and love from KFS, students will get to experiment with lots of different mediums and learn art making techniques that will expand their “artists toolbox”. 

  Students will have the opportunity to participate in an end of the year art show. 

  This class will also require a monthly supply fee of $10-$30 dollars.
